The Spot is always looking for dedicated volunteers. Most people who donate time to The Spot and its youth have specific projects and skill interests. They are very self-motivated. Currently, we have two volunteers who assist in the computer graphics lab, one volunteer in the music studios, one who runs our wood / metal / repair shop, mentors youth, and helps us maintain our building, one who helps participants with resume preparation, and several volunteer GED and A+ Computer Certification tutors and business mentors. Thank you to everyone who donates time to help the youth at The Spot!
We welcome volunteers with a broad range of skills, especially people who can help tutor youth in GED preparation and A+ Certification, graphic and web designers, artists, photographers with dark room experience, people knowledgeable in the silk screen process, audio or music engineers, people capable of assisting youth with job, resume, and interview skills, business mentors, videographers, and much, much more!
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact us.
Long time volunteer Jim Kaiser teaches a youth participant about welding in The Shop @ The Spot. Jim also helps participants with wood and metal work as well as helping to keep our 1936 building mostly operational.
