The Spot's desktop publishing and graphic design lab has two Macintosh G4 computers (made possible by a grant from Best Buy and by a generous in-kind donation from Joan Noble in memory of her son Micah), two iMac G3's (donated by Hal and Ann Logan and Tonay and Delisa Mayer) and 2 beige Macintosh G3's. These computers are equipped with scanners, printers, zip drives, and industry-leading software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash, Quark XPress and more.
Participants use these computers and software to create covers for CD's these make in The Spot's music production studios, T-shirt designs, flyers, magazines, newsletters, greeting and business cards, web pages, and more.
The Spot also has five iMac G3 internet stations with high speed DSL internet access. These stations were purchased from funds donated by the U.S. West Foundation. Youth participants use these computers to chat, e-mail, do internet research, apply for colleges and financial aid, and just have fun.
